When the couple and the mother-of-the-bride told me I needed a place setting for dinner, I knew I had done my job. My introduction to this family months prior, and the process in which we started planning was different then most previous couples. It’s an absolute mouthful, but the bride’s-big-sister’s-best-friend is a dear friend of mine… so when this incredibly thoughtful big sister was in the market to gift her bride-to-be-sister and Brother-in-law-to-be a wedding planner, my name was introduced.
I later met the bride and mother of the bride via zoom and with only four months to plan, we immediately got to work. Mother of the Bride, Sandra, was incredibly hands-on in the best kind of way. She was resourceful, responsive and to be honest, is on my short list as a future hire if she ever wants a career in event management. We toured the venue, a private ranch property near Lake Travis in Austin – Hudson Bend Ranch.
October 29, 2022 gifted Casey and Corry the perfect autumn weather following a week of rain and chilly temps.
Their guest list was small, allowing them an intimate and intentional weekend with the people they wanted to share such a momentous occasion with. From the rehearsal dinner and welcome party to the wedding morning getting ready with their respective families, this couple was intentional about quality time and simple elegance. The ceremony, officiated by the Bride’s Grandfather John, was thoughtful and tender.
For their design, Casey wanted to tie in colors of the season, a few trends, anchored in classicism.
Rose of Sharon Flowers owner, Amanda, infused her artistry throughout the lush grounds creating a cohesive flow from one space to the next.
Can we just take a moment to acknowledge the cutest father of the bride?
Absolute adoration of his girls…
Okay, back to scheduled programming…
Photographer, Caitlin Wood Photography and her assistant, Ashlie Ayers Photo, were so easy to work with. They helped ensure every photo on our shot list was captured, they managed the timeline impeccably and they made sure all their subjects, from the couple to the grandparents and extended family were well captured.
Following family photos, we snuck the Bride and Groom down to the Reception area… seeing their reaction to the design was priceless. Dining by candlelight gave this couple the intimate dinner party feel they’d hoped for. Serenaded by Austin musician, Sheridan Reed – guests enjoyed fare from Dagar’s Catering.
Following dinner, Sheridan, transitioned from acoustic guitar and sultry vocals into a party starting DJ. He amped up the group, initiated the dance party and led it well into the night before the couple bid their farewells, departing the venue for their hotel. Sweets included an indulgent buttercream cake by Confectious Pastry Shop. Fun fact- the bakery owner, Nicci, was getting married the same weekend!
Before the night ended, Bride Casey and Groom Corry snuck away for late night pictures with their photo duo. It was a wonderful night filled with family sentiment and joyous celebration. I was honored to have been apart of the day and look forward to hearing about the life these two build together.
